It’s hard not to love the capital of Italy, located in the central-western portion of the Italian Peninsula, on the Tiber River within the Lazio region of Italy. During our stay we enjoyed the gardens at our Hotel de Russie, took a walk through the lively area of Trastevere, and stopped for an unforgettable dinner at Glass restaurant, prepared for us by artisan Chef Cristina Bowerman and became power shoppers and people watches on Via Condotti and Via del Corso near the Spanish Steps.

We had a wonderful evening attending the concert, Roman Nights at the Teatro di Marcello, and learned to make pizza Napolitana at Pizzeria Napul’è with chef Serena Sorangelo and alongside our friend from Kauai, Beatrice; after which we enjoyed the cool and unusual creations of Claudio Torcè at Il Gelato. We flew back to Aspen, just in time for this year's Food & Wine Classic. Sadly, this was the last stop on our tour of Italy in 2012.
